Pittsburgh to Washington DC 6-day trip - Wilderness Voyageurs
6 days of biking through beautiful country! This trip takes place on a rather unique trail system, considered by Conde Naste Magazine to be one of the seventeen most beautiful rail trails in the world. This is a world class ride that is filled with a multitude of natural, cultural and historically significant sites. The initial 141 miles on the Great Allegheny Passage from near Pittsburgh to Cumberland, Maryland are located on abandoned railroad bed (and some back roads). The final 180 miles from Cumberland to downtown Washington D.C. are located on the towpath of the now defunct C&O canal. What this means to cyclists is: 305 miles of trail that begins at 761 feet in elevation, climbs over the Allegheny Front of the Appalachian Mountains at 2932 feet in elevation using several tunnels along the way, and terminates at sea level. All of this happens with a maximum grade of 2% with only a very few exceptions.

Join a small group of fellow adventurers for a 6 day journey from Pittsburgh to Washington DC. This is a fully supported and inclusive biking vacation. Allow our guides to pamper you, the support van will mysteriously appear when you need it with those snacks and drinks, and our mobile bike shop provides you with a piece of mind. Cycle at your own pace. Inn to Inn vacations are a hassle free way to ride. Maximum group size of 12. For more details or to request a detailed itinerary Visit the Website
